The verse is considered to be one of the most powerful and important verses in the Quran and is recited by many Muslims as a form of protection, to ward off evil, and to gain blessings and success.
Ayat al-Kursi is the 255th verse of Surah Al-Baqarah and it starts with the words "Allahu la ilaha illa huwa" which translates to "Allah, there is no god but He."
